The 6 Best Air Hockey Ping Pong Tables

Want to experience the thrill of air hockey and ping pong at home but lack the space to have two separate tables? We thought so. Squeezing one game table anywhere in your home is troublesome, let alone two. That’s why today, we’ll be delving into the top air hockey ping pong tables sellers offer. If I had the space, I just might pick up one of these for myself!

Featured Products

Features to Consider Before Buying

Size

Ping pong and air hockey tables come in various sizes, so it’s important to know how much space you are working with before you press the buy button. Most tables are around air hockey regulation size, which is 7 ft long, but you can get 6 ft and 5 ft tables if you lack the space.

Remember to also consider how much space you will need around the table to play. You don’t need much clearance for air hockey, but you do for ping pong. I recommend having at least 4 ft of space at either end long ways and 2 ft either end width-wise.

Weight

Although this may not matter to some people, weight is fairly important to not overlook if you intend on moving your table once assembled. Heavy air hockey ping pong combos require multiple people to lift them, which can be inconvenient if you don’t have anyone around. They can also be more difficult to set up and require more people to assist with assembly. Most 7 ft tables weigh around 150 lb which is good for an air hockey ping pong table combo.

Scoring System

The scoring system of air hockey and ping pong tables differ depending on which model you buy. The basic option relies on manual scoring. You slide beads along using an abacus scorer to keep track of games. While it relies on effort on your part, they do have the advantage of being reliable.

Other tables use electronic scorers. They count goals digitally when scored which ensures the action never stops. Electronic scorers are great features to have. However, they can develop flaws after repeated use.

Accessories

Almost all air hockey table tennis combos have the required accessories for air hockey and ping pong. Just note they may not be of the highest quality. You may want to explore buying accessories separately. We have a guide for choosing your own ping pong paddle that you might find useful.

Air Flow

Some air hockey tables with ping pong tops are sparse on the air hockey details, leaving out that they do not have blowers installed. This means you are playing push hockey rather than air hockey which is nowhere near as fun. We highly recommend you only buy air hockey combination tables with blowers.

Warranty

A long warranty period shows that the manufacturer stands behind the quality of its product. It also gives you peace of mind that should a fault arise, you are covered. Again, warranty periods vary quite a bit. You should aim for combo air hockey ping pong tables with at least 90 days warranty.

  • Poor quality table tennis paddles
  • Ping pong tabletop comes in three pieces
  • Warranty period is only 90 days

Our rating: 9.3

Our top pick for the best air hockey ping pong table combos goes to the EastPoint Sports NHL Power Play. This table is just below the standard size at 80” in length x 43” in width and is simply a great all-around table. The air hockey is air-powered, which is a big plus. And the playing surface is made from hardened GlazeTekTM, which is durable and smooth. The power corners also add more rebound to hits making games even more action-packed.

The table features an electronic scorer with sound for full immersion and includes all accessories. Setup is also minimal, so you can begin playing just a few minutes after unboxing.

There are only two issues with this table tennis air hockey combo. The first is the table tennis paddles. They are of low quality, and we recommend buying replacements. Yet the main issue is the 90–day warranty, it’s pretty low for such a big purchase, and we feel it should be at least twice as long.

  • Accessory holder
  • Toll-free customer service

Cons:

  • Inaccurate listing information
  • Warranty period is only 90 days

Our rating: 8.8

The 2-in-1 air hockey and ping pong table by ESPN Sports is a great choice if you want a slightly smaller table. It’s 6 ft long, so not so small that it is immediately noticeable during matches. There’s a lot to like about this table. It’s well built and has a smooth white gloss playfield. The air hockey is also air-powered, which makes it leaps and bound above the push hockey models.

The table features an electronic scorer with sound to fully replicate the feel of playing at the arcades, which we love. An area it excels over some of the other tables is its storage. The table tennis top rests on a shelf under the air hockey play surface, and there are also storage holders for the bats and balls on the side, which is really handy.

Again this is another table with a 90-day warranty period. We really would like more coverage, but we still strongly recommend it given its range of features.

However, this table’s biggest con is the inaccurate product listing information. The weight and warranty period were incorrect — the manufacturer corrected the erroneous figures in the customer questions & answers section. A pretty careless mistake if you ask us, and they haven’t updated the listing description as of the time of writing.

3. PUCK Atlas 7-foot Air Hockey Table with Table Tennis — Best Overall

  • Material: MDF, PVC, ABS, zinc alloy
  • Weight: 154 lbs
  • Warranty: Lifetime warranty
  • Included accessories: 4x pushers, 4x pucks, 2x table tennis paddles, table tennis balls, net and post, carrying bag

Pros:

  • Electronic scorer with sound & manual scorer
  • Leg levelers
  • Air powered
  • Includes all accessories
  • Incredible lifetime warranty included
  • Thicker ping pong tabletop

Cons:

  • Expensive

Our rating: 9.6

Next up is the Atlas by PUCK. This table costs twice that of the tables above, but with the increased cost comes a lot of value. The Atlas absolutely blows the competition out of the water regarding warranty. The others only offer 90 days, whereas PUCK offers a staggering lifetime warranty. The step-up here is simply huge. PUCK even stresses that 100% customer satisfaction is their top priority and encourages customers to get in touch with any questions.

Another feature we really love are the dual scorers. You’ve got the option of using both the deluxe electronic scorer and the manual zinc alloy abacus scorer. It’s pretty rare to have both and is very welcome given that we have noticed some electronic scorers fail after moderate use.

To top it all off, the ping pong tabletop appears thicker than the other models featured, so you’ll likely get a more consistent bounce for your games. Given all of this info, the Atlas is the best table overall, in our opinion. If you can spare the extra cash, it’s worth the investment.

Pros:

  • 3 games in 1
  • Swivel mechanism
  • Manual scorer
  • Leg levelers
  • Air powered
  • Solid build
  • Includes all accessories
  • Storage for accessories

Cons:

  • Low-quality table tennis top
  • Unknown warranty period
  • Heavy

Our rating: 8.6

While the three models thus far include table tennis and air hockey, the Triumph 3-in-1 table breaks this trend. It’s a ping pong air hockey pool table which gives you even more entertainment on just one table. What we like about this model, in particular, is its swivel feature. You can switch from air hockey to billiards in seconds by swiveling the table’s surface 180 degrees. This then locks into place using the four concealed locks located on either end of the table — simple and effective!

One area that surprised us was the fact that this unit is air powered. Given the swivel feature, we were almost certain that the table would include push hockey rather than air hockey. However, this is not the case! In fact, the air hockey is pretty good quality as it includes a 110V blower that uses Triumph’s patented central air distribution system. This ensures nice even airflow for maximum enjoyment.

Two drawbacks we identified with this model are the quality of the tabletop and the weight. The table tennis play surface is thin and comprises three sections. As such, the bounce is pretty poor, and two seams are running across the surface. As for the weight, the table weighs a staggering 316 lbs, so assembling and maneuvering it is no easy task. At least it’s very robust!

5. Fat Cat Original 3-in-1 Table

Specifications:

  • Dimensions: 87” x 44” x 32”
  • Material: Wood, resin, felt, plastic
  • Weight: 286 lbs
  • Warranty: 90-day warranty
  • Included accessories: 4x pushers, 4x pucks, 2x table tennis paddles, table tennis balls, net and post, billiard balls, 2x cues, triangle, chalk & brush

Pros:

  • 3 games in 1
  • Swivel mechanism
  • Available in multiple colors
  • Manual scorer
  • Leg levelers
  • Air powered
  • Long 16 ft power cord
  • Includes all accessories
  • Storage for accessories

Cons:

  • Low-quality table tennis top
  • A little cheap looking
  • Warranty period is only 90 days
  • Heavy

Our rating: 8.1

The Fat Cat Original 3-in-1 multi-game table is much like the Triumph 3-in-1 table. Both feature the same three games and use a swivel mechanism to switch between each of the games. They are also both damn heavy, although the Fat Cat table is 30 lbs lighter at 286 lbs. So the difference is not all that much.

Where they do differ, though, is the price. The Fat Cat table is over $500 more expensive, which is quite a lot given it doesn’t really offer any substantial advantages over its cheaper rival. The only pros unique to this model are the long 16 ft power cord for convenience, the cue storage along the horizontal supports, and the color customization. If you ask us, this isn’t enough to warrant purchasing it over the Triumph 3-in-1 swivel table.

This is not to say that it is not a high-quality table, though, merely the value isn’t there.

6. Hall of Games Air Powered Hockey Table — Best Space Saver

Specifications:

  • Dimensions: 66” x 34” x 32”
  • Material: Engineered wood, plastic, metal
  • Weight: 99 lbs
  • Warranty: 90-day warranty
  • Included accessories: 2x pushers, 2x pucks, 2x table tennis paddles, 2x table tennis balls, net, and post

Pros:

  • LED scorer
  • Leg levelers
  • Air powered
  • Includes all accessories
  • Accessory holder

Cons:

  • Very light
  • Warranty period is only 90 days
  • Not very strong

Our rating: 8.1

Back to the 2-in-1 tables, we have our final air hockey ping pong table on this list. The Hall of Games table is the smallest by some margin at 66” x 34” x 32″. While this means less exciting gameplay, it does mean it is easier to fit in your home, so if you’re tight on space, it is certainly one to consider. It’s also very lightweight, which is both a blessing and a curse. At 99 lb moving, it is no trouble at all with two people. However, it does mean that it is not that solid, so you have to be careful not to knock into it when you’re playing.

Moving onto one quality we love, and that’s the UL-certified motor. This ensures strong and even airflow across the high gloss playfield, so the games are intense even if the size is quite small.  The inclusion of this surprised us. Given the lightness of the table, we were pretty sure you would only be able to play push hockey, so count us impressed!

Another cool feature is the LED electronic scorer. This is complete with sound effects for a truly immersive arcade-style experience. The home team is red, and the away team is blue, so you can easily distinguish the score from a glance.

All in all, we really like the Hall of Games air hockey ping pong table combo. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a better table in a smaller and lighter package. Just be aware that it is easily the weakest table on this list, so you can’t be too rough with it.

FAQs

Can You Play Ping Pong on an Air Hockey Table?

Yes, you can, but if you don’t purchase a ping pong air hockey table combo, you’ll have to buy a ping pong conversion top separately for your air hockey table. We have an entire guide devoted to table tennis conversion tops.

Why Buy an Air Hockey Ping Pong Table?

An air hockey ping pong table means you get the enjoyment of two games in one. This saves on space and brings with it more entertainment. Both games are also widely popular, unlike other games such as golf, which is a little more niche. This means both friends and family can get in on the fun!

What Is a Full-Size Air Hockey Table?

A full-size air hockey table measures 7 ft x 4 ft (84” x 48”). However, some tables are even larger than this, going as long as 90” in length.

What Age Are Air Hockey Tables For?

Air hockey tables are for all ages, but some tables are more suitable for certain groups of people than others. For instance, full-size 7 ft tables are ideal for adults, while 6 ft and 5 ft tables are perfect for children.

Do Air Hockey Tables Need to Be Plugged In?

If your table only has push hockey, you won’t have to plug it in. However, most will need plugging in since real air hockey tables have motors to pump air out of the table. Select models sometimes use batteries instead, but these wear out quickly.

Closing Thoughts

We liked all of the air hockey ping pong tables featured in this guide and are happy to recommend them. However, we know you want specifics. So if you are buying with value for money in mind, we think the NHL Power Play is your best bet. It’s got everything you want in a table: good airpower, quality playing surface, leg levelers, etc. The only aspect it let us down was the 90-day warranty period, but we can’t critique it too much as this is a typical coverage length.

If instead, you are looking for the best overall table you can get your hands on, then the PUCK Atlas is the one for you. The included lifetime warranty is just unbeatable, and again its features are plentiful. The dual scoring system, in particular, is a highly sought-after feature to have. We are certain this table will impress you.
