Overview of the STIGA Titan

The 2 millimeter inverted sponge allows for some decent spin on the ball, but it’s relatively light weight is a hindrance for those more interested in power. It’s got a 5 ply concave Italian composite handle which is nothing impressive, but it will do the job handily. Overall, it’s a great paddle for beginners to get the hang of the game, and its light weight makes it perfect for younger children.

As a beginner, power should not be your main concern. You want to practice placement and technique, and this paddle will allow you to do that without spending $100 on an expensive paddle. One of the most important things about Table Tennis is reading the oncoming spins and then countering with the appropriate move for the situation. The increased grip that allows better control and spins on this paddle will allow you to do just that.

Features:

Disadvantages

  • Designed for spin, not power
  • Low quality sponge (which means not great speed)

Conclusion

To sum up, the STIGA Titan is a great choice for beginners who want to upgrade their paddle. It’s affordable and durable with good paddle ratings that will improve your game almost instantly. We wouldn’t recommend it for intermediate or expert players though.

Eugene (Gene) Sandoval has been one of those guys who spent too many hours around ping pong tables in high school. However, soon enough, Gene understood that there is more to ping pong than having fun. That is how he started a journey that made Eugene one of the experienced semi-professional ping pong players in the United States. As the founder of the PingPongRuler, Eugene spends most of his time surrounded by ping pong tables and research. He always has this knack for coming up with new ping pong strategies and telling the good and bad equipment apart.
